Fisheries echosounder observations can support biological and seabed research. They are not equivalent to a forward-looking sonar system for vessel collision avoidance.

CURRENT EVIDENCE
The archive audit found 96 labeled patches from 20 image files with one shared capture-time identifier. Random patch splits risk leakage between train and test sets.
The source bundle is inventoried, but its code has not been copied into the runtime. The two NOAA backend archives are byte-for-byte duplicates of the same four paths; one source is sufficient if later approved. Code, annotation, datasets and model weights need separate rights and provenance decisions.
| ASSET | OBSERVED CONTENT | DECISION |
|---|---|---|
| NOAA service archives | Duplicate 4-file Python backend packages | Retain one only if rights are confirmed |
| Classifier labels | 96 patches: 49 anchovy / 47 seafloor | Not enough independent sessions for generalization claims |
| Keras H5 weights | Approx. 27 MB binary | Quarantined; not loaded or committed |
| Notebooks and annotation scripts | Legacy experiments and helpers | Not executed; ownership and embedded data review pending |
